Kiddie fiddlers don't exist amongst JWs! FAIL! And most lately the decree to destroy all records held by the BOE doubtless in an attempt to dodge Court evidence (official line being privacy act related of course). Definitely helped me to see the wood for the trees!

by cognac inmy parents were always of the belief that, "the end is right around the corner".. i was a zealous kid, with a learning disorder, so my parents never gave me a hard time or pushed me in regards to my education.. this not only hurt me, but, pissed me off insanely.
fast forward to me having my own kid.
ava is not doing well in school.

Cognac - my humble opinion is that it is impossible for you to fail your daughter.
Agree with Sabin. Eye and ear test. My son didn't actually speak until he was 5 because apparently "he just didn't want to". The best thing about having all those tests done was that it proved my son wasn't incapable. He baffled 'them' all and now he's a successful career man in the visual digi arts. Another good thing for the testing was I didn't feel like I had failed him somehow as a parent.
Don't give yourself a hard time. Who knows what amazing, gifted talent your Ava has that she hasn't exhibited yet. Go with the flow and if you sense stifling, back off. Not everyone needs academia to make a success of life :)

Are The Governing Body Anointed?

like me maybe during your life as a jw the "thing" that causes someone to know if they are anointed was always a bit of mystery, except to those who claimed they knew.
i had heard it explained to me many ways, and like many things i just said "ok, well thats an answer... i guess".

Surely they would miss him even though the rest of us wouldn't? ! I would have said thanks but no thanks Jehoober, I choose paradise on earth with my family where I can continue to laud it over everyone. Now that's the other thing. by Old Major inbeen reading for about 2 and a half years, thought i would take the plunge and sign up.. my circumstances... i live in uk, serving as ms. i am fully awake.
i can not leave due to family, so just treating the meetings as a bit of a social club.

Oh yes Simon, association with ex jws during your transition helps to avoid the long explanations alright! And really, having been that person who has made the long explanations to my not in partner, it's tiresome but also embarrassing! You end up hearing the absurdity of that 'stuff' that was once upon a time your life and future compass! (Shame!!) But then the comfort that comes with the realization that you did the right thing lets you get on with it!
